Commissioning of projects to be held during 9-day “FCT Week” announced by Wike

President Bola Tinubu has approved a 9-day schedule, dubbed FCT Week, to inaugurate finished projects in the FCT, according to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike.

The governor made the announcement on Friday during his last inspection of several FCT projects set to be commissioned.

On May 27, he announced, the Abuja Rail Mass Transit will open for business, marking the beginning of FCT Week.

Additional projects that will be inaugurated by the President during FCT Week and which were examined by the FCT Minister include the Vice President’s official residence, the B6 and B12 Circle Roads, and the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) which stretches from the Villa Roundabout to Ring Road 1 with four interchanges.

Wike was pleased with the progress made on the projects and gave props to the contractors for sticking to their word and finishing on time.

In addition, he emphasized that the FCT Administration has fulfilled its commitment by allocating sufficient funds for the projects and has confirmed that the FCT is prepared to launch them.

“We believe that the inauguration of the various projects will begin on the 27th of this month, as approved by Mr. President,” Wike stated.

We expect the president to officially open the Abuja Metro line to the public on the 27th. It is our expectation that the final inspection will be conducted on Monday. Based on our observations, I believe we are cleared to proceed.
