Voters in Saturday’s local government chairmanship and councillorship elections in Yobe State were few in number, with just a small number of persons casting ballots at various polling units.
According to our reporter, who went to multiple voting locations, election officials, security personnel, and party agents were all disappointed that no one showed up to cast ballots.

But every so often, people walked over to the polls to cast their ballots. There was no line at the voting places because of the low voter participation.
Despite the state government’s announcement of a restriction of motor movement order, residents continued with their customary routines, with some opening for business and many attempting to commute between different parts of the state at various bus stops.
