Why We Prefer Teamwork Over Competition – Fireboy Reflects on His Time Working With Rema

As fans had anticipated, Nigerian artist Fireboy DML and his teammate Rema opted to collaborate rather than feud.

They are “advanced,” he claimed, which is why they made the decision.

“Rema and I are the two leading Afrobeats artists of our generation,” Fireboy stated in an interview with Ebro of Apple Music. Instead of caving in to the fans’ demands for beef, we decided to work together. This isn’t something we should be dealing with because our technology is too advanced.

We made real music; we didn’t even provide them with a club hit. Five additional partnerships are in the works.

After both Fireboy and Rema became famous that year, people started comparing them on social media.

After Fireboy included Rema on the song “Compromise” from his third studio album, “Playboy,” the comparisons died down.
