The government of Lagos State has reiterated its dedication to the security of its citizens, citing the recent capture of forty alleged criminals in the vicinity of the recently built Yaba Overpass Bridge in the Ebute Metta area as proof of its dedication.
According to Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the commissioner for transportation, the arrest sends a clear message that illegal acts targeting Lagosians, especially in important transportation areas, will not be accepted.
He said that the suspects’ shacks have been torn down and the region is now under constant observation, showing that the government is taking a proactive approach to public protection.
Additionally, Osiyemi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working with relevant parties, especially law enforcement, to ensure the safety of all residents.
He stressed that locals should be on the lookout for any unusual behavior and report it immediately to the proper authorities or the hotlines set up by the Ministry of Transportation.
Public safety and the fight against crime will remain top priorities for the state administration, according to the commissioner.
