After Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen hurt his knee, the left defender was summoned to the squad to replace him.

Three local players—the youthful defender, Olorunleke Ojo, and Sodiq Ismail—will be part of the 23-man squad that will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin Republic and South Africa.

Since becoming the Rangers’ first squad last year, Igboke has been a mainstay in the starting lineup.

As a member of the national squad, he pledged to try his best to represent the club and league.

I will make the most of this opportunity to represent my country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the chance. “I am absolutely thrilled,” Igboke told the Rangers’ media.

I am grateful beyond words for the opportunity, and I will try my best to represent the Rangers International FC and the National Premier Football League (NPFL), the league’s organisers, in a positive light.

Making accommodation for more invitees would undoubtedly be a rewarding experience for me and other home-based invitees. I will defend our nation honorably with the prayers and support of my supporters and club members.
