Yoruba National Day lecture in Ibadan, Oyo State, is likely to be attended by dignitaries such as President Bola Tinubu, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, and Chief Reuben Fasoranti, head of the Afenifere.
Newsmen were informed by Comrade Awa Bamiji, president-general of the Grand Council of Yoruba Youths, that this year’s event will be used to honor the 85th birthday of Chief Lere Paimo, alias Eda Onileola, a seasoned actor, core progressive, and elder statesman.
He stated that Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos State, would be giving the speech titled “National Unity and Agitation for Self-Determination: The Way Forward for Nigeria.”…
He went on to say that Arc Bamidele Samson, chairman of the BOVAS Group, would be the event’s chairman and that JMK, or Otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede, would serve as vice chairman.
The governors of the South West are guests of honor, while President Bola Tinubu (GCFR) and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu are special guests.
Members of the South West Assembly will be speaking as special guests. General Alani Akinrinade (rtd), Chief Reuben Fasoranti, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Archbishop Ayo Ladigbolu, Dr. Kunle Olajide, and Hon. Wale Osun are the Afenifere leaders who will be honored today.
