The choice to back President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 elections was justified by Toyin Abraham, an actress and producer from Nollywood.

If you remember, right after the election, Abraham posted on her social media that she had a meeting with the soon-to-be president, during which he told her about his plans to address the nation’s problems.

As the country’s problems have worsened, Abraham has been the target of criticism for her part in installing the present administration.

In response to the criticism, the actress took to Instagram Live on Tuesday to declare that she and her family will stand up to the persistent cyberbullying they’ve endured as a result of her political stance.

She made it clear that she is free to vote for and support whoever she chooses because Nigeria is a democracy.

The actress also denied rumors that Tinubu paid her to endorse him.

I wanted [Goodlcuk] Jonathan years ago, everyone else preferred Buhari, and you bullied me because of it. I can’t remember the last time I vented my anger at someone.

I keep hearing that I don’t have to explain anything; do you really think that’s going to be easy? They curse at my kids every time they post a photo of them online.

My tendency to let things slip is based on your perception that I am an emotionally fragile person. “However, I will not tolerate it on this occasion,” she screamed.

My children and I did what? What did they do to you? Just curse me if that’s what you want to do. Treat me anyway you choose. You constantly bully and curse at those kids, even though they don’t know what you’re talking about. Some people keep telling me to just ignore them. I have had enough. I can no longer tolerate it.

“This is a democratic system. Voting for anyone I think deserves my vote is a fundamental right of mine. I’ll put it out in the open: I never gave money to Tinubu or Sanwo-Olu. I don’t fit that description. Personally, I did not grow up that way.
