The Building Collapse Prevention Guild (BCPG) has asked for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway to be extended to Badagry, claiming that this will have a greater positive effect on development.

Compared to Bar Beach on Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, the guild’s statement by BCPG Badagry Cell coordinator Olaniyi Olajire and secretary Dipo Olayiwola argues that Badagry, which is located near the border town, will have a greater developmental and economic impact as the endpoint of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

Extending the coastal highway to the shoreline of Badagry will add economic value to the project, according to members of the Building Collapse Prevention Guild who live or work around the Badagry axis, after a thorough assessment.

On Lagos Island, experts from the BCPG Badagry Cell used a boat to conduct an exploratory feasibility assessment along the Atlantic coast, from Badagry to Marina.

Thus, the technically feasible prospect of building the Badagry highway was established. Below are some of the adumbrated benefits of traveling the coastal highway terminal to Badagry.
