NPFL title is not our objective – Ilechukwu, coach of the Rangers

Fidelis Ilechukwu, Rangers’ technical adviser, has said that the club is not planning to win the Nigerian Premier Football League title this year.

With 55 points after 32 games, the Flying Antelopes are currently atop the NPFL standings.

Among the other teams vying for the championship are Remo Stars and the reigning champions, Enyimba.

When it comes to the title race, Ilechukwu thinks that two clubs are better than Rangers.

Following their Round 64 loss to the Kano Pillars, Rangers were eliminated from the 2024 President Federation Cup.

This is something I have mentioned before on many platforms; perhaps it bears repeating. He made it clear that winning the league is not their goal for the current campaign.

Some teams, like Remo Stars and Enyimba, are ahead of the game.

So that’s football. On occasion, it occurs. That hurts. We were eliminated from the competition in the first round for the first time ever.

Unfortunately, we feel helpless in the situation. My best wishes are with Kano Pillars.

“After a disappointing showing in the Federation Cup, we must now turn our attention to the league and make an appeal to our fans.”
