Government of the Biafran Republic On a date set for a sit-in commemorating the fallen Biafran heroes of the 1967–1970 Nigerian Civil War, BRGIE, the in-exile group, has clashed with IPOB, the Indigenous People of Biafra.

Speaking on Sunday, BRGIE Prime Minister Simon Ekpa said that the sit-at-home in Biafra territory will begin on May 29th and end on May 31st, 2024.

You may remember that IPOB called for a sit-in on May 30, 2024.

But as BRGIE pointed out, the sit-at-home period will only be three days long.

According to Ekpa, the Biafran people needed to sit-at-home in order to cast their ballots for the Liberation of Biafra.

He elaborated on why the Igbo people must vote for the Biafran independence for the sit-at-home to have any value.

He went on to say that the Nigerian government is still battling Biafrans today, even though the media made it seem like the Biafran Civil War ended.

On the following dates, Biafrans will be able to participate in the last round of voting in the self-referendum that was previously conducted in stage one.

Stay home and cast your ballot on May 29, 2024; on May 30, 2024, celebrate Biafra Day; and on May 31, 2024, cast your ballot from the comfort of your own home.

And unlike other groups that just choose to stay home on May 30, the Biafran Republic Government in Exile is not trying to exert political influence. By taking action on the 30th, you are not merely sitting on your hands but are actively participating in the process of voting for the Liberation of Biafra, which is why BRGIE is so proactive.

Physically, militarily, politically, and structurally, the Civil War is far from over; it merely ended in newspapers.

The Biafran War began in 1970 and continues to this day in Nigeria. As a result, although heroes are still dying in the 2024 attacks in Nigeria, it is not enough to simply observe the sit-at-home to memorialize them.

We shall use this May commemoration to ensure that Biafrans cast ballots in the upcoming election, since the war has still not ended in actuality.

This will help advance the cause of Biafran liberation. Biafrans in the Southeast and South-South, I implore you to cast your ballots for Biafra Liberation.

There are three steps to the Biafran self-referendum. “The final stage will conclude in November 2024, and the Declaration convention will begin on November 29 and conclude on December 3, 2024,” he announced.
