Ibom Deep Seaport, Palm Oil Refinery, and Petroleum Products Depot are long-term goals of Pastor Umo Eno, governor of Akwa Ibom State. Eno has pleaded with Godswill Akpabio, president of the Senate, to utilize his position as the third-highest citizen to persuade the federal government to assist in making these projects a reality.
Over the weekend, while attending a state banquet in honor of Akpabio and other visiting senators at Government House in Uyo, the capital of the state, the governor made the appeal during a courtesy visit by the Senate President.
He went on to say that the seaport’s construction would spur economic growth for Nigeria in the Gulf of Guinea because it boasts the country’s deepest and longest water length.
Thanking President Bola Tinubu and the senators for their visit, Governor Eno praised them for “rallying around our son and making him the president of the 10th Senate,” saying, “he is our joy, our pride and a beacon of hope for our people.” Eno also praised the senators for their support of Bola Tinubu.
Akwa Ibom State is honored to host the esteemed senators who are being led by our son, the president of the senate.
We have been fortunate to have patriotic and committed leaders from the time of Obong Victor Attah, through the uncommon era of my grandfather, the senate president, to my political father, the immediate past Governor Udom Emmanuel, and up until the present day, ever since this state was established and particularly after democracy was restored.
Our predecessors in office accomplished much for the state; our task now is to preserve their legacies and, if required, to build upon them.
