Debunking the myth that Hazard was inconsistent – Is that true?

The Belgian announced in his tweet that he would be joining the champions league winners in the 2012 summer after Chelsea had been crowned champions of Europe for a whooping sum of £32million, Many doubted his ability until he made his premier league debut for Chelsea against Wigan athletic on the 19th of August 2012.

It was a great debut for the 21yr Old boy as he sent Branislav Ivanovic running with a beautifully timed pass and he scored. Five minutes later, hazard was fouled in the box and won a penalty for Chelsea which Frank Lampard converted from the spot.

It couldn’t have been a better debut for a 21yr old boy, At the end of that season, he won The YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR as the 21yr old ran riot in the league and announced his presence in style.

The following season which was the 2013/14 campaign, He registered 14 goals and 7 assists and created 10 big chances in 35 appearances in the league considering the fact that he’s not known for outputs, Hazard led Chelsea into the semi-finals of the champions league before they got crashed out by Atletico de Madrid after a second-leg defeat, The season still saw Eden hazard emerged as Chelsea’s top scorer in the league(14goals) and In all competitions(17 goals). 2015/16 season was the only season Hazard couldn’t live up to expectations at Chelsea, Everything went wrong about him. His shooting, his dribbling skills, and his passing were off, He couldn’t even take on defenders very well as he used to do, Eden hazard for the first time in his career went throughout the first half of the season without registering a single goal.

Considering the fact that hazard had to deal with fitness, a hip injury, and a groin injury which limited him that season, it wasn’t all over because the hazard was full of confidence, it was already looking like the hazard was finished until he was finally fit in late April, Hazard returned with blood in his eyes as he scored his 4 premier league goals in his next 4 games which included a sizzling equalizer at the bridge against Tottenham, The goal won Chelsea goal of the year and it also decided the league title that night, the goal won the title for Leicester City.

Finishing the premier league season in a bad form considering the fact that he’s got to deal with so many injuries and problems with staying fit, he still finished the season in style by scoring remarkable and decisive goals, Later that year he went on international duty with Belgium to the Euro as he bagged the most assists in the Euro before wales knocked them out in the quarterfinals, Hazard was undoubtedly the best player in the euro for Belgium and this signifies that if he didn’t encounter Injury problems earlier in the premier league season I think he would have offered more, A fully fit Eden hazard will make any team better.

2016/17 season had Eden hazard fully back to fitness as his individual brilliance once again helped Chelsea to another league title triumph, Hazard would score 16 times and assist 5 times in the league which would be enough to secure the title for Chelsea. At the end of a commanding season, Hazard won multiple awards as usual which include, Chelsea player of the year(for the third time in 5 seasons), Chelsea goal of the year, Premier League player of the month, and PFA fans player of the month for October and Premier league goal of the month for February, he could have won the PFA PLAYER OF THE YEAR but an immortal Kante was there(no disrespect to Kante).

His second to the last season wasn’t bad as well in the 2017/18 season when he emerged once again as the club’s top goal scorer in the league and in all competitions with 17 goals in total, Chelsea finished 5th in the league after a disappointing campaign but Eden hazard was still Eden hazard as he was the most outstanding player in the team. 6 seasons now at Chelsea and we’ve seen many pieces of evidence that Hazard is a big game player and he’s so consistent considering the fact that he’s got to deal with injuries when he had a bad season.

Later in 2018 when the season ended and it was time for the World Cup, Eden had one of his best countrySide campaigns for Belgium in the 2018 World Cup, He stamped his authority in the group stages as he scored 3 times and assisted twice, In the round of 16 against Japan he was helpful once again as he assisted Maroune Fellaini to come back into the game after a two goals deficit.

They went on to face the 7 times World Cup winners Brazil in the quarterfinals Eden hazard stamped his authority on the game as he left the stadium with a staggering performance after setting a record for BEST DRIBBLE SUCCESS RATE ever in a World Cup game when he completed 10/10 dribbles, Hazard’s dribbling ability that people underrate so much helped Belgium overcame Brazil in the quarterfinals, on that night Eden hazard won MAN OF THE MATCH without having to score or assist in the game which proves EDEN is a player than is more than just goals and assists.

In the semifinals, they couldn’t go past France but hazard once again tried all he could after completing 10/11 dribbles, and 1 key pass, and won 16 out of 21 ground duels maybe it wasn’t a night made for the reds of Belgium.

Jamie Carragher said, “For me, he(Hazard)was the best player at the World Cup, he came second to Modric”.When the end of the season prizes was shared Hazard won the second-best player of the tournament which is the Silver ball after a commanding performance before Belgium was knocked out in the semifinals, Of course, he played the third-place ? match against England where scored the second goal to win the bronze medal for Belgium, he didn’t just score a goal against England but was at his mesmeric best again with his dribbling skills as he disturbed the England backline for the whole time he was on the pitch. Hazard finished the whole season in style by making it into World IX for the first time in his career.

Finally!!, The last season Hazard spent with Chelsea which had them change the manager to Maurizio Sarri, He is the first attacking system coach Eden hazard will play under since he’s been at Chelsea, Hazard had his best season statistically for Chelsea in the 2018/19 season under Sarri as He netted 16 times, assisted 15 times? and created 18 big chances in 37 appearances in the league and in all competitions Hazard netted 21 times for Chelsea.

Eden Hazard and Chelsea had a great season as Chelsea finished 3rd in the league and won the Europa League at the end of the season, Debunking the myth that Hazard always ghosts in European cup games Hazard won Europa league player of season despite not starting most of the games but proved his worth in last few crucial knockout games he started.

Hazard went on to win multiple awards as, Premier league player of the month for September, Premier league goal of the month for April, Chelsea player of the year(for the 4th time), Chelsea players’ player of the year, Chelsea goal of the season, PFA Fans player of the year, Premier League playmaker of the season and UEFA Europa League player of the season, it was a fantastic last season for Eden Michael hazard at Chelsea.

His last game and Goal for Chelsea was against arsenal in the 2019 Europa League final where he scored twice and assisted Pedro’s goal, Hazard made it into the world IX selections this season for the second time consecutively. This surely debunks the myth that he always ghosts on European stages.

Hazard is a Generational talent that makes football look simple at his feet, he didn’t have all the work ethics of Ronaldo or Messi when they were younger like him, he didn’t have their mentality to work hard and always want to be the best, with all the nonchalant attitude on the training ground he would still go into the match and boss the game, Filipe Luis said “He would be on his phone playing games throughout the team talk in the dressing room and still he’ll go onto the pitch and win Man of the match” This shows how talented and Good Hazard could be on his day.
