Due to the world body’s insistence that the Burkinabes’ home venue is not up to standard, the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying match between the two teams will take place on a neutral ground, giving the advantage to Nigeria’s U17 girls, the Flamingos, who will play their away match against Burkinabes on a neutral field.
The Burkinabes have decided to welcome the Flamingos on Saturday, May 11th, at 4 pm Mali time, in the capital of Mali, Bamako.
On Saturday, May 18th, at 3:30 PM Nigerian time, the match will return to the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Burundian Suavis Iratunga will preside over the encounter at the March 26 Stadium, with fellow countrywomen Fides Bangurambona, Alida Iradukunda, and Joselyne Nsabimana serving as assistants 1, 2, and 4, respectively, according to the Confederation of African Football.
Aya Irene Ahoua of Cote d’Ivoire will serve as the referee assessor, and Oumou Souleyman Kane of Mauritania will serve as commissioner.
Aline Umutoni of Rwanda will officiate the second leg in Abuja, while Alice Umutesi and Sandrine Usenga, also from her home country, will serve as assistants 1 and 2, respectively. Raya Sisay of Ethiopia will serve as the fourth official, with Fatou Gaye of Senegal serving as the referee assessor and Naa Odofoley Nortey as commissioner.
On May 8th, the Flamingos’ excursion to Bamako will set sail from Abuja.
